Today ASDA launched Britain’s newest pay as you go mobile phone service. ASDA mobile will initially be available in 51 stores this week but will roll out across the UK throughout the year and gives customers Britain’s lowest price cross-network* texts and calls.
Calls start at as little at 8p a minute and texts are priced from 5p each – a fraction of the price of many other providers. Customers will also be charged the same rate whatever time of day they call and to any mobile network or landline.

Top-ups can be bought at over 50,000 UK outlets, including ASDA Stores, and a Scottish call-centre promises convenience and top quality customer service.
ASDA will also be rebranding mobile phone centres in its stores which stock a wide range of both stylish and value handsets, from the LG Chocolate model for £109.97 to the Nokia 1600 for only £19.97. SIM only packages are available for only £4.97 and are free if you buy a £10 top-up.
“Low prices are in our DNA.” said head of ASDA mobile, Ted Cadogan, “Making a call from your mobile is now, for many, the main way of keeping in touch with family and friends and our customers can’t understand why it shouldn’t be more affordable – we’re proving it can be.”
