ASDA OFFERS LOWEST PRICED EASTER BASKET

Shopping at ASDA could save you up to £18

ASDA has the lowest priced shopping basket on the market this Easter according to research out today.

Researchers compared 13 Easter products from the five major supermarkets and found that by shopping around customers could save up to 33%.

The Easter comparison basket includes everything you would need to cook a traditional roast lamb dinner for a family of four through to essentials such as Easter eggs, hot cross buns and traditional Simnel cake. ASDA has found some great savings to ensure everyone can enjoy the holiday weekend despite tightening purse strings, including a pack of six hot cross buns - just 38p at ASDA compared to Tesco and Morrison’s at 89p. Johnny Stern, director, MySupermarket.co.uk, the independent supermarket comparison site comments:

“Mysupermarket checks and compares the prices of thousands of grocery products across all of the big supermarkets on a daily basis.

These figures are a good example of how consumers can save money by using Mysupermarket.co.uk to shop wisely and control the cost of the Easter holiday.”  Darren Blackhurst, Food Trading Director at ASDA, comments:

“Times are tough for many ordinary people with household costs rising and the family budget tightening. At ASDA we constantly strive to keep prices as low as possible for our customers and this basket confirms that ASDA is the UK's lowest price retailer this Easter.

“Using independent comparison website mySupermarket.co.uk will reassure shoppers that ASDA really is hitting the mark in terms of price. Other retailers may try to use promotional gimmicks to disguise their higher prices but we are keeping things simple and offering low prices and no nonsense value every day. Our customers know this and independent sources confirm it."
