IT'S PHONES FOR YOU FOR A FIVER

ASDA launches Britain's lowest priced mobile phone

ASDA today (25th April) launches Britain's lowest priced Pay As You Go mobile phone ever when it goes on sale at £5 with no strings attached.  So straightforward is the deal that you could walk into an ASDA store, buy the phone and walk out. Over 50,000 handsets, which are amazingly cheaper than a kids' toy mobile, will be available at ASDA stores across the UK from 9am but the supermarket warns these are likely to sell out quickly.

The retailer is even giving customers a choice of four phones to choose from including a Nokia. ASDA is well known for bringing customers iconic items at unbelievable prices and has previously sold DVD players for £9, suits for £15 and copies of the latest Harry Potter book for just £5. Peter Pritchard, ASDA Trading Director, says:  ‘We think this latest offer is likely to get the best reception yet!  When it came to deciding to sell the latest high quality phones at incredibly low prices to our customers, it wasn’t a tough call to make.

Shoppers are increasingly turning to Pay As you Go as a way of controlling their spending on mobile phones and this offer is exactly what is needed to help them do this.’ Buying technology can be confusing when shoppers are bombarded with half price contracts and free gifts.  Many cheap PAYG offers from other mobile phone retailers tie customers into paying for up to £50 worth of credit but these ASDA handsets from Nokia and Sagem cost less than the price of a toy mobile with no hidden extras.

ASDA is the fastest growing mobile phone seller in the market * and its increasing scale means it is able to work with more and more suppliers to offer this deal across the networks.  The retailer works with all the major networks to get customers straightforward value deals across PAYG and contracts. Phones will be available in all ASDA stores while stocks last.
